GeloTonsil® gargle gel is used as an adjunctive treatment for inflammation of the oral and pharyngeal mucosa. This mild, non-irritating and alcohol-free gargle gel relieves sore throats and difficulty swallowing by mechanically removing pathogens, forming a protective gel film on the inflamed mucous membrane and keeping it moisturised.

Indications

GeloTonsil® gargle gel is used as an adjunctive treatment for inflammation of the oral and pharyngeal mucous membranes. Sore throats and difficulty swallowing are relieved as GeloTonsil® gargle gel forms a protective film over the irritated pharyngeal mucous membrane.

Mechanism of action

GeloTonsil® gargle gel acts through a physical mechanism. When gargling, the viscous gargle gel forms a protective film over the mucous membranes of the mouth and throat and moisturises them. This moisturising effect protects the mucous membranes of the mouth and throat from drying out, irritation and external factors that can cause a sore throat. The application of GeloTonsil® gargle gel rinses the irritated and inflamed throat mucosa, thereby mechanically removing pathogens that cause a sore throat, particularly viruses. The gel-forming ingredients, xanthan gum and hyaluronic acid, form a protective gel film over the inflamed mucous membrane, soothing it and shielding it from further external influences. The GeloTonsil® gargle gel increases moisture retention and enhances the adhesion of the protective film to the mucous membranes. In addition, dexpanthenol is included as a soothing ingredient. Irritated areas can regenerate.

Directions for use

The recommended amount for gargling is 1 tablespoon (10–15 ml) three times a day. Avoid eating or drinking for about an hour after use to ensure the protective film adheres effectively.
Use in children: Do not use in children under 3 years of age. Children aged 3 years and over should only use GeloTonsil® Gargle Gel if they are able to gargle safely.
Method and duration of use: GeloTonsil® gargle gel is ready to use and should be used undiluted for gargling. Use a tablespoon to measure out the required amount. Gargle with undiluted GeloTonsil® gargle gel for about 30 seconds . Then spit out the GeloTonsil® gargle gel and do not rinse your mouth afterwards. Accidental swallowing of small amounts of GeloTonsil® gargle gel is harmless.
Duration of use: GeloTonsil® gargle gel should be used for several days until the symptoms subside . If your acute symptoms worsen (e.g. fever, swelling of the throat, aching limbs) or do not improve within 3 days, please consult your doctor.

Other ingredients: Purified water, xylitol, dexpanthenol, disodium hydrogen phosphate, citric acid, hydrogen peroxide and sucralose.
