Gaspan 90 mg/50 mg gastro-resistant soft capsules are a herbal medicine for the treatment of gastrointestinal complaints, especially mild cramps, flatulence, bloating and abdominal pain.

Two thirds of the Austrian population frequently have digestive problems. The causes can range from psychological to physical problems. With its unique combination of caraway and peppermint oil, Gaspan® effectively helps with flatulence, bloating and abdominal pain.

Highly dosed plant-based active ingredients

Caraway and peppermint have long been popular spices and medicinal plants for gastrointestinal treatments. In caraway, the essential oil is extracted from the caraway fruit; in peppermint, the aromatic ingredients are found in the leaves.

Both high-dose essential oils are combined in Gaspan® capsules and complement each other in their effect:

Caraway oil has a decongestant effect and inhibits gas formation in the intestines
Peppermint oil has an antispasmodic and pain-relieving effect.

Gaspan® can therefore be used specifically for digestive problems such as flatulence, bloating and abdominal pain.

Note: The amount of caraway and peppermint oil in a daily dose of 2 capsules of Gaspan® is equivalent to approx. 11 litres of tea or 73 cups.

Gaspan® acts directly in the intestine

Thanks to the gastro-resistant soft capsule, the high-dose active ingredients of Gaspan® are gently transported into the intestine, where they unfold their effect.
Herbal medicine for the treatment of gastrointestinal complaints, especially mild cramps, flatulence, bloating and abdominal pain.
Gaspan is used in adults and adolescents from the age of 12.

Dosage form

Soft capsules

Intended use

Adolescents from 12 years of age, adults and elderly patients: One gastro-resistant capsule twice daily.
Patients with impaired renal and/or hepatic function: No data are available on dosage instructions for patients with impaired renal/liver function.

Route of administration

Oral use.
The capsules should be taken whole with plenty of liquid (e.g. 1 glass of water), preferably in the morning and at lunchtime, at least 30 minutes before the next meal.
The capsules can also be taken without a subsequent meal.
The capsules must be swallowed whole. They must not be chewed, crushed or broken before swallowing so that the active ingredient is not released prematurely.

Duration of use

The enteric-coated capsules should be taken until the symptoms have subsided, usually within two to four weeks. If symptoms persist or worsen after 2 weeks, you must consult a doctor. If symptoms persist, the use of enteric-coated capsules can be continued for up to 3 months per therapy.

Ingredients

90 mg Mentha x piperita L., aetheroleum (peppermint oil) and 50 mg Carum carvi L., aetheroleum (caraway oil).
The other ingredients are: succinylated gelatine, glycerol 85%, polysorbate 80, propylene glycol, glycerol monostearate 40-55, methacrylic acid-ethyl acrylate copolymer (1:1) dispersion 30%, medium-chain triglycerides, sodium dodecyl sulphate, sorbitol solution (non-crystallising), titanium dioxide (E 171), iron oxide yellow (E 172), patent blue V (E 131), quinoline yellow (E 104).
