Gall Pharma Vaseline (Vaselinum album) is a care and protective ointment for the treatment of skin irritations, protects the skin from external influences and chapped lips in cold weather.
Skin irritations are frequent due to the position of the skin (demarcation of the body from the environment), its fine tissue structure and the variety of external influences. The variety of skin changes is very often caused by a combination of several, mostly uncharacteristic factors. For this reason, it is necessary to protect the skin against external influences. This can be done by applying a protective film or through care with healing and soothing ointments or creams.
Intensive cleansing (daily bathing with plenty of bath additives or contact with detergents, washing-up liquids and chemicals) can disrupt the skin's natural moisturising process. Cold and wind also cause the body surface to dry out. All these external influences lead to skin irritations such as cracks, flaking and redness. To prevent the skin from becoming oily or dry, it is advisable to protect the natural protective layer against these irritations. Vaseline is a practically water-free mixture of hydrocarbons with an ointment-like to pasty, viscous consistency without taste or odour. When applied in a thin layer, Vaseline forms a translucent film that protects the skin. Vaseline is resistant to air and cold as well as strong acids and alkalis.
