Finalgon® ointment, 20 G

Finalgon® Ointment promotes blood circulation in the skin in the case of muscle and joint complaints and is used to treat acute back pain.

Finalgon® Ointment causes vasodilatation of the skin and an increase in blood flow to the skin, which is accompanied by a long-lasting feeling of warmth. The blood circulation in the treated skin and muscle area is increased, the vessels dilate and the metabolism in the tissue is accelerated. This relaxes the tense muscles and relieves the pain.

Finalgon ointment contains two vasodilating active ingredients that trigger an intensive heat stimulus on the skin that lasts for many hours. This leads to a localised increase in blood flow to the skin. As a result, Finalgon ointment causes a lasting feeling of warmth.

• to promote blood circulation in the skin for muscle and joint complaints
• for the treatment of acute back pain
• to promote blood circulation in the skin before capillary blood sampling, e.g. from the earlobe or fingertip

How to use

Adults and adolescents aged 18 and over: To begin with, a maximum of ½ cm of ointment should be applied to a palm-sized area of skin (roughly the size of a pea). If necessary, apply up to 2 - 3 times a day.

Method of application:

Apply Finalgon - Ointment to the skin over the painful area using the enclosed applicator and then rub in by hand until the skin has a slightly shiny surface. Immediately after each application of Finalgon ointment, wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water.

To stimulate skin circulation before capillary blood collection:

• 1 - 2 cm of ointment per treatment.
• To prepare for blood collection, apply a 1 - 2 cm strand to the area where blood is to be taken (e.g. earlobe or fingertip) approx. 10 minutes beforehandand massage in.
• Before the blood sample is taken, the ointment residue is wiped off and the skin area is disinfected. Wearing disposable gloves is recommended. Care should be taken to ensure that Finalgon ointment is not transferred to other areas of skin or other people.

Ingredients

• Active ingredient: 4 mg nonylvanillamide and 25 mg nicotinic acid β-butoxyethyl ester.
• Other ingredients: sorbic acid, citronella oil, diisopropyl adipate, highly dispersed silicon dioxide, white petrolatum, purified water.
