Dr Böhm Monk's Pepper forte 20 mg film-coated tablets are a herbal medicine for the treatment of premenstrual syndrome (PMS) with symptoms such as mood swings, weight gain due to fluid retention in the tissue and painful tension and swelling in the breasts.

The ingredients of monk's pepper extract influence the metabolism of certain hormones and messenger substances, which together lead to relief of the monthly recurring symptoms before the onset of menstruation.

This medicine is used in adult women aged 18 years and over. If you do not feel better or even worse after 3 months, consult your doctor.

PMS - menstrual cramps before the period

Many women are plagued by menstrual cramps month after month. The "days before your period" can bring with them a number of hormone-related symptoms (premenstrual syndrome, PMS). During this period in particular, a hormonal imbalance in the female body can have a particularly negative effect on well-being.

Monk's pepper alleviates PMS symptoms

The medicinal plant monk's pepper has been used since ancient times to treat female symptoms such as PMS. Today, it is clearly proven that its active ingredients have a harmonising effect on the menstrual cycle and thus reduce the excessive release of prolactin. As a result, this leads to a noticeable alleviation of typical PMS symptoms such as mood swings, feelings of tension and swelling in the breasts and weight gain due to fluid retention in the tissue.

Directions for use

Adult women aged 18 and over: 1 film-coated tablet daily.
Use in children and adolescents: There is no relevant indication for prepubertal children. Use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age is not recommended due to a lack of data.
Route of administration: Oral use. The film-coated tablets should be taken whole with sufficient liquid (e.g. a glass of water), preferably at the same time each day.
Duration of use: To achieve optimum treatment success, continuous use over 3 months is recommended. If you do not feel better or even worse after 3 months, consult your doctor.

Ingredients

The active ingredient is: dry extract of monk's pepper fruit (Agni casti fructus).
1 film-coated tablet contains 20 mg dry extract of monk's pepper fruit (drug-extract ratio 7-13:1), extractant: ethanol 60% (m/m).
The other ingredients are: Glucose syrup, mannitol, highly dispersed silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate, cellulose powder, microcrystalline cellulose, maize starch, carboxymethyl starch sodium (type A), hypromellose, macrogol 4000, iron(III) oxide (E 172).
