Product information "PRIMA® Helicobacter pylori Antigen Home Test"
The PRIMA® Helicobacter pylori Antigen Home Test is a self-test for detecting the presence of Helicobacter pylori antigen in stool. Results are available after 10 minutes.
Helicobacter pylori
Helicobacter pylori is a bacterium whose ideal habitat is the human gastric mucosa. The infection is often asymptomatic, but can sometimes cause gastritis as well as gastric or duodenal ulcers. The most common symptoms of these conditions are: a burning sensation and pain in the upper abdomen, particularly some time after meals and in the morning on an empty stomach. Other symptoms include: nausea and a feeling of fullness, acid reflux, loss of appetite, belching, weight loss and diarrhoea. Sometimes the ulcer may bleed and, over time, lead to anaemia. In the long term, infection with Helicobacter pylori is associated with an increased risk of stomach cancer. Testing for specific Helicobacter pylori antigens in the stool is an effective and non-invasive method for the rapid detection of Helicobacter pylori infection.
Principle of the test
The HELICOBACTER PYLORI ANTIGEN TEST is an immunochromatographic test which, thanks to the use of highly specific, gold-conjugated monoclonal antibodies contained in the test strip, detects even the smallest amounts of H. pylori antigens in stool samples.
Technical data
The HELICOBACTER PYLORI ANTIGEN TEST is an immunochromatographic device for the detection of H. pylori antigens in stool samples.
