Gentle help for PMS (premenstrual syndrome)
- Suitable for younger girls (from the age of 12)
- Gentle build-up of effect over a longer period of time
When menstruation causes discomfort
Menstrual cramps are widespread - almost half of all women suffer from them every month. This has a particularly negative effect on well-being: The hormonal change often leads to discomfort days before the start of your period. These "days before your period" - technically known as premenstrual syndrome or PMS for short - are often accompanied by tiredness, irritability and mood swings.
However, physical complaints such as a feeling of tension in the breasts, headaches and back pain, swollen legs or water retention before your period are also typical symptoms.
Well tolerated and gently effective
Complaints before the period (premenstrual syndrome) such as mood swings, weight gain due to water retention in the tissue and the painful feeling of tension and swelling in the breasts can be gently alleviated with Dr Böhm® Monk's Pepper. Like most herbal medicines, this monk's pepper preparation is a well-tolerated and gentle therapy whose effect builds up gradually. Dr Böhm® Monk's Pepper is recommended by the Professional Association of Austrian Gynaecologists (BÖG).
Active ingredients
Monk's pepper - Agnus castus - is a plant from the Mediterranean region and grows up to four metres high. As early as the Middle Ages, monk's pepper was used to treat menstrual cramps. The ingredients of monk's pepper extract have a positive effect on the metabolism of certain hormones and messenger substances. This leads to an alleviation of the monthly recurring symptoms, such as mood swings, weight gain due to fluid retention in the tissue or the painful feeling of tension and swelling in the breasts.
