• Optimum preparation of the skin for increased sun exposure

• Increased UV exposure throughout the year can lead to premature skin ageing, dry skin, pigmentation disorders or other undesirable skin reactions. Especially those who spend a lot of time in the sun are putting their skin at risk. Sun creams and lotions are essential here, but cannot offer 100% safety.
• This makes additional, targeted skin protection from the inside all the more important. It helps the skin to prepare itself for the sun, to ward off free radicals caused by UV radiation and to repair itself. Excellent free radical scavengers in nature are plant-based carotenoids as well as vitamin E and vitamin C.
• Good to know: Natural radical scavengers are also particularly valuable for light dermatoses ("sun allergies"), which often occur at the beginning of the summer season when the skin has not yet developed enough protection of its own.

What is astaxanthin?

• The natural antioxidant astaxanthin (6,000 times stronger than vitamin C) occurs naturally in so-called microalgae and protects them from harmful environmental influences and stress factors. The formation of astaxanthin (recognisable by a discolouration of the algae from green to red) enables the plant to survive for decades even under the most adverse conditions. This antioxidant effect provides additional skin protection in Dr Böhm® SunCarotene. Astaxanthin is deposited in the skin cells even more effectively than other carotenoids and thus contributes to the maintenance of healthy skin.
• The astaxanthin used (AstaFit®) is sustainably cultivated in Austria (Styria) and obtained using a special process. It can be absorbed very well by the body and thus unfolds its full potential. This is why astaxanthin as a "red diamond" stands for the highest quality and bioavailability.

How to use

• Take 1 tablet daily unchewed with a little liquid, preferably after a meal. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.
• In order to achieve an optimal protective function for your skin, we recommend taking Dr. Böhm® SunCarotene Coated Tablets on a long-term basis and ideally four weeks before increased UV exposure (summer or holiday season).
• Warnings: Dr Böhm® SunCarotene Coated Tablets are not a substitute for sun protection products for external use, but can supplement the protective potential very well.
