Lactose intolerance is caused by a lack of, or insufficient, lactase activity, which means that the lactose consumed in food cannot be digested properly.

For people who have difficulty digesting lactose, lactase improves lactose digestion. There are differences in lactose tolerance. An individual’s lactase requirement depends on the body’s own lactase production as well as the amount of lactose consumed in the diet. Doppelherz Lactase 24,000 contains a high dose of the enzyme lactase – helping your body to process foods and drinks containing lactose more effectively once again!

Lactose is the name given to the milk sugar found in milk. In order to digest this milk sugar, the gut requires lactase – an enzyme produced naturally by the body that breaks down lactose. If the body no longer produces sufficient amounts of this enzyme, lactose can no longer be processed. This is known as lactose intolerance. The unpleasant symptoms of lactose intolerance (milk sugar intolerance) can include stomach ache, bloating, flatulence, constipation or diarrhoea.

Lactase aids the digestion of lactose

Doppelherz Lactase 24,000 simply supplies our body with the enzyme lactase, thereby supporting the natural breakdown of lactose. One Doppelherz mini-tablet contains 24,000 FCC units.

This food supplement does not affect the body’s own production of lactase. Instead, the lactase it contains is used solely to break down lactose present in food. The mini-tablets are therefore suitable for regular, long-term use – allowing you to enjoy foods and drinks containing lactose without any worries.
