Doppelherz Allergen PROTECT Eye Drops is a medical device for use in the eye. It is sterile and free from preservatives. It contains hyaluronic acid, rosmarinic acid and vitamin B12, thereby providing a moisturising, lubricating and antioxidant effect and improving lubrication.

For seasonal allergies

Doppelherz Allergen PROTECT Eye Drops are suitable for dry eyes, e.g. in cases of eye allergies or other eye complaints caused by environmental or mechanical stress. The eye drops relieve the symptoms of seasonal allergic conjunctivitis, even when these are associated with dry eye syndrome. In fact, it restores tear volume, removes allergens from the tear film by inducing blinking following administration, and counteracts the phenomenon of oxidation by enhancing the body’s natural antioxidant mechanisms. The eye drops therefore also reduce mild to moderate symptoms of dry eye, which are accompanied by itching, a burning sensation and a foreign body sensation.

Hyaluronic acid

Hyaluronic acid is a biocompatible polymer and occurs naturally in many human tissues. Thanks to its viscoelastic and water-retaining properties, it imparts a lubricating effect to the product. Furthermore, it restores tear volume. Rosmarinic acid and vitamin B12 are antioxidant substances that react with free radicals and neutralise them. The antioxidant effect takes place on the surface of the cornea.

Antioxidant effect

Doppelherz Allergen PROTECT Eye Drops, in combination with rosmarinic acid and vitamin B12, have an antioxidant activity that counteracts the effects of free radicals (which are generated on the surface of the eye following exposure to sunlight), which over time damage both the pigment epithelium and the photoreceptors, thereby inducing macular degeneration and causing opacification of the lens leading to the onset of a cataract.

Doppelherz Allergen PROTECT eye drops are also suitable for frequent and prolonged use. Doppelherz Allergen PROTECT eye drops can be used with daily disposable contact lenses: a slight discolouration of the lenses when removed does not affect their optical properties.

Directions for use

Wash and dry your hands thoroughly before use.
Remove the tamper-evident seal before first use.
Remove the protective cap.
Squeeze the bottle and instil 2 drops into each eye, unless otherwise prescribed.
Wait a few seconds after each drop without pressing the bottle. This allows sufficient air to flow back into the system. Otherwise, it will be more difficult to dispense the drops.
As the bottle gradually empties, greater pressure may be required to dispense the product. This is due to the properties of the closure system, which preserves the sterility as well as the chemical and physical properties of preservative-free solutions. Furthermore, a small amount of the solution always remains in the bottle.
After use, shake the remaining drops off the tip.
Replace the cap on the bottle immediately after use.
Do not replace the protective cap whilst the container is still compressed.
Do not allow the dropper tip to come into contact with anything, including your eyes or fingers.
The product can be used for up to 3 months after first opening.
