Doppelherz pure Zinc + Vitamin C contains 20 mg natural vitamin C from acerola fruit extract and 15 mg zinc from zinc bisglycinate. The acerola fruit extract used contains 17 % natural vitamin C. Zinc and vitamin C are processed exclusively in capsules of plant origin.

Zinc is a vital trace element. As the body cannot produce it itself, a regular intake with food is essential. In a balanced diet, the right choice of food is also crucial in terms of zinc supply. Although meat and fish contain the largest proportion of zinc, a vegetarian or vegan diet can also provide an adequate supply of zinc if the food is chosen carefully - e.g. through the regular consumption of cereals such as oats, wheat, rye and maize as well as pulses, nuts and seeds.
Vitamin C is probably the best-known vitamin in connection with the immune system. The human body cannot produce this vitamin itself, so we have to consume sufficient amounts of it daily through our food. Ascorbic acid, as vitamin C is also known, is extremely sensitive to heat, light and storage. It can therefore be lost when food is cooked or stored for a long time. Incidentally, vegetables such as red peppers and broccoli and tart fruits such as blackcurrants, acerola fruits and citrus fruits contain particularly high levels of vitamin C - ideally eaten raw, of course.

A conscious and balanced diet is not always easy in everyday life. Doppelherz pure zinc + C offers a good way of supplementing these nutrients. The product is also suitable for a vegetarian or vegan diet without gelatine and with a plant-based capsule shell. The acerola fruit, also known as the acerola cherry, is the fruit of a shrub or small tree from the Malpighian family from South and Central America. The sour fruits are among those with the highest vitamin C content: 100 g of fresh juice contains up to 1500 mg of the vitamin. Acerola fruits can be eaten raw. Their juice is mixed with other, usually sweeter fruit juices. The whole fruit is not suitable for export - it is so soft and juicy that it has to be processed immediately after harvesting. The acerola fruit is used to produce juices that are pasteurised or frozen and sold in stores.
