Dolgit akut® pain cream, 50 mg/g cream, 100 G

Dolgit akut® Pain Relief Cream is a pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory medicine for topical application to the skin, containing the active ingredient ibuprofen.

As the active ingredient ibuprofen is dissolved in the cream base, it is rapidly absorbed by the skin and thus reaches the affected tissue areas directly. Dolgit akut® Pain Relief Cream has pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effects. Swelling subsides. Mobility is noticeably improved. The effect sets in after about 30 minutes and lasts for several hours.

Indications

For external general or supportive treatment of:

• Lumbago
• Pain and swelling following non-bleeding (blunt) injuries
• Muscle tension
• For use in adults and young people aged 14 and over

If you do not feel any better, or if your condition worsens, after 3 days, consult your doctor.

Directions for use

• Adults and adolescents aged 14 years and over: Dolgit akut® pain relief cream should be applied 3–4 times a day. Depending on the size of the painful area to be treated, a 4–10 cm-long strip of cream, equivalent to 2–5 g of cream (100–250 mg ibuprofen), is required. The maximum total daily dose is 20 g of cream, equivalent to 1,000 mg of ibuprofen.
• Children and adolescents under 14 years of age: There is no experience of use in children and adolescents under 14 years of age; therefore, Dolgit akut® Pain Relief Cream must not be used in this age group.
• Method of administration: For use on the skin. Do not swallow! Apply the cream to intact skin and rub in over a large area. In cases of severe bruising and contusions, the use of an airtight dressing may be beneficial at the start of treatment. Enhanced penetration of the active ingredient through the skin can be achieved by using iontophoresis (a special form of electrotherapy). In this case, Dolgit akut® Pain Relief Cream should be applied beneath the cathode (negative pole). The current should be 0.1–0.5 mA per 5 cm² of electrode surface area, and the treatment should last approximately 10 minutes. Concurrent treatment with oral ibuprofen preparations is possible.
• Duration of use: The treating doctor will determine the duration of treatment. As a rule, a course of treatment lasting 2–3 weeks is sufficient. There is no evidence to support the therapeutic benefit of continued use beyond this period. If symptoms persist for longer than 3 days, a doctor should be consulted.

Ingredients

• The active ingredient is: ibuprofen 1 g. Dolgit akut® pain relief cream contains 50 mg of ibuprofen. 1 g of cream corresponds to approximately 2 cm of cream.
• The other ingredients are: sodium methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate (E 219), medium-chain triglycerides, glycerol monostearate (E 471), macrogol stearate 1 500, macrogol stearate 5 000, propylene glycol (E 1520), xanthan gum (E 415), lavender oil, orange blossom oil, purified water.
