Chlorhexamed® Forte alcohol-free 2 mg/ml - solution for use in the oral cavity, 300 ML

Chlorhexamed® Forte alcohol-free is a surface-active mouth and throat antiseptic (disinfectant) with a broad spectrum of action and long-term effect against bacterial pathogens and somewhat weaker activity against fungal infections.

Rinsing with Chlorhexamed Forte alcohol-free effectively treats bacterial infections in the mouth and throat.

Chlorhexamed Forte alcohol-free is used to treat and prevent bacterial infections in the mouth and throat and is indicated

• to reduce and prevent bacterial plaque (dental plaque)
• for the treatment of simple to purulent inflammation of the gums (gingivitis)
• for the treatment or prevention of infectious diseases of the periodontium and their consequences (periodontopathies)
• for tonsillitis, angina, lateral gangrene, pharyngitis (inflammation of the pharyngeal mucosa)
• for injuries and before and after surgical procedures in the mouth and throat (e.g. before and after tonsil operations and dental surgery), as Chlorhexamed Forte alcohol-free supports the healing process
• for aphthae (painful inflamed areas of the mucous membrane of the gums, oral cavity or tongue) and inflammation of the oral mucosa such as stomatitis (especially under dentures) and inflammation of the tongue (glossitis). In the case of severe fungal disease of the oral mucosa (thrush), additional therapy with special antifungal agents may occasionally be necessary
• to eliminate bad breath if normal oral hygiene is not possible and the bad breath is not caused by a stomach disease
• for oral hygiene if normal oral hygiene (brushing teeth) is not possible, e.g. in the case of severe general illnesses and patients in intensive care

Directions for use

• Adults: Apply the solution twice daily, preferably in the morning and evening after meals.
• Method of application: For use in the oral cavity. With each application, fill the dosage cap to the mark (10 ml) and rinse in the mouth for 1 minute (pull intensively through the interdental spaces) or gargle in the throat. Then spit out - do not swallow or rinse. In the case of inflammation of the oral mucosa caused by dentures, the dentures should be soaked in Chlorhexamed Forte alcohol-free for 15 to 20 minutes at least twice a day after cleaning. Rinse the mouth additionally as described above. At least 5 minutes before using Chlorhexamed Forte alcohol-free, the teeth should be brushed and then the oral cavity thoroughly rinsed with water (see section 2: "Use of Chlorhexamed Forte alcohol-free together with other medicines"). It is important to clean the teeth thoroughly before each mouthwash, especially when treating inflammatory diseases of the periodontium (periodontal disease), in order to ensure better adhesion of Chlorhexamed Forte alcohol-free to the tooth surface and thus effective inhibition of plaque growth. In intensive care cases or manually handicapped patients where active mouth rinsing is not possible, Chlorhexamed Forte alcohol-free can be used to remove plaque by brushing. The solution is ready to use and can therefore be used undiluted.

Ingredients

• What Chlorhexamed Forte alcohol-free contains - The active ingredient is: chlorhexidine digluconate. 1 ml contains: 2 mg chlorhexidine digluconate. A single dose of 10 ml contains 20 mg chlorhexidine digluconate.
• The other ingredients are Macrogol glycerol hydroxystearate, glycerol, sorbitol (E420), peppermint flavouring, purified water. The peppermint flavouring contains benzyl alcohol, citral, citronellol, eugenol, geraniol, limonene and linalool.
