Magnesium glycinate, or magnesium bisglycinate, is an organic magnesium compound (the magnesium is bound to the amino acid glycine). The amino acid chelate complex protects the mucous membranes in the digestive tract, which is why magnesium glycinate is considered to be particularly well tolerated. It is also highly bioavailable, as it does not have to compete with other minerals for the same absorption pathways; instead, it is recognised by the body as an amino acid and is therefore absorbed much more effectively.

Taking it in capsule form is particularly easy and provides the body with exactly the recommended daily dose of magnesium. One capsule contains 105 mg of pure magnesium and, thanks to its excellent bioavailability, is absorbed optimally. Magnesium glycinate is also known as magnesium bisglycinate.
