- The most important ingredient for the skin and digestion is aloverose (acemannan). This proteoglycan is found exclusively in the aloe species Aloe barbadensis Miller. Proteoglycans are found on the cell surface and also connect the cells with each other, but can also bind with hyaluronic acid and collagen.
