Betadona® Wound Gel with the active ingredient povidone-iodine has a comprehensive germicidal effect and is effective against bacteria, fungi, spores, viruses and certain protozoa. In addition, this type of wound disinfection favours rapid, problem-free healing.

The wound gel constantly releases iodine, which is well tolerated by the skin, mucous membranes and wounds. This free iodine inactivates the pathogens and kills them. The iodine discolours in the process. If the product loses its yellow-brownish colour, it must be reapplied if a further effect is desired.

Application

Apply once or several times a day to the area to be treated until it is visibly covered with the yellow-brown povidone-iodine gel.
If discolouration occurs, a subsequent dose is required.
Betadona® Wound Gel should only be used on newborn babies under 6 months of age after a strict risk/benefit assessment by the doctor and only to a very limited extent.
If necessary or to protect clothing, a bandage can be applied over it.
