Dosage form
Directions for use
- Dosage: The recommended dose is one spray of Azelastin POS Nasal Spray into each nostril twice daily (morning and evening). This corresponds to a daily dose of 0.56 mg of azelastine hydrochloride.
- Use in children and adolescents: Due to a lack of data on safety and efficacy, Azelastin POS Nasal Spray must not be used in children under 6 years of age.
- Duration of use: Azelastin POS Nasal Spray may be used until symptoms subside, but should not be used continuously for longer than 6 months. Speak to your doctor or pharmacist if your symptoms worsen or if you do not notice any significant improvement after more than 3 days of using Azelastin POS Nasal Spray.
- Method of use: Azelastin POS Nasal Spray is intended for nasal use. Azelastin POS Nasal Spray should always be used by the same person.
- Blow your nose before using Azelastin POS Nasal Spray.
- Remove the protective cap.
- Press the pump until the solution is dispensed (usually 1 or 2 times).
- Keep your head in an upright position; do not tilt it backwards.
- Insert the nasal applicator into the nostril and press the pump once, whilst breathing in gently.
- Repeat in the other nostril.
- Wipe the nasal adapter and replace the protective cap.
Ingredients
- The active ingredient is azelastine hydrochloride. One 0.14 ml spray contains 0.14 mg of azelastine hydrochloride.
- The other ingredients are sodium edetate, hypromellose, sodium monohydrogen phosphate dodecahydrate, citric acid, sodium chloride and purified water.
