Aspirin® +C effervescent tablets, 10 ST

Aspirin+C effervescent tablets contain the active ingredient acetylsalicylic acid (ASA). This has pain-relieving, fever-reducing and anti-inflammatory effects.

The addition of vitamin C to the effervescent tablets helps to meet the increased need for this vitamin during colds and flu-like infections accompanied by a fever.

Indications:

• Symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain, such as headaches, toothache and period pain.
• For the relief of pain and fever associated with colds and flu-like infections.

If you do not feel any better – or even feel worse – after 3–4 days for pain or after 3 days for a fever, or if new symptoms appear (e.g. redness or swelling), you must consult a doctor, as these may be signs of a serious illness.

Each Aspirin® +C effervescent tablet contains 400 mg of acetylsalicylic acid and 240 mg of vitamin C.

Directions for use

• Single dose (adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over): 1–2 effervescent tablets (equivalent to 400 mg–800 mg of acetylsalicylic acid and 240 mg–480 mg of ascorbic acid)
• Maximum daily dose: 3 – up to 7 effervescent tablets (equivalent to 1200 – 2800 mg of acetylsalicylic acid and 720 mg – 1680 mg of ascorbic acid). The maximum daily dose of 7 effervescent tablets (equivalent to 2800 mg of acetylsalicylic acid) must not be exceeded.
• Use in children under 12 years of age: Medicines containing ASA (such as Aspirin +C effervescent tablets) must only be given to children under 12 years of age on medical prescription. Aspirin +C effervescent tablets are not suitable for children, as this dosage form does not allow for paediatric dosages.
  
• Method of administration: For oral use after dissolution. Dissolve one effervescent tablet completely in a glass of water and drink. Do not take on an empty stomach.
• Duration of use: If necessary, a single dose may be taken up to three times a day at intervals of 4–8 hours. However, the maximum total daily dose of 7 effervescent tablets must not be exceeded. As the tablets are sensitive to moisture, the airtight foil should only be torn open immediately before using the tablet. Aspirin +C effervescent tablets must not be taken for longer than 3–4 days for pain or longer than 3 days for fever without a doctor’s prescription. If pain or fever persists or even worsens during this period, or if new symptoms appear (e.g. redness or swelling), you must consult your doctor, as these may be signs of a serious illness.
  

Ingredients

• The active ingredients are acetylsalicylic acid and ascorbic acid. One effervescent tablet contains 400 mg of acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) and 240 mg of ascorbic acid (vitamin C).
• The other ingredients are sodium citrate, sodium bicarbonate, anhydrous sodium carbonate and anhydrous citric acid.
