Properties of the ingredients
- Carduus marianus (milk thistle) acts on the liver and gall bladder. The medicinal picture shows nausea, nausea, vomiting of greenish-yellow mucus, colicky pain and diarrhoea.
- Berberis (sour thorn or barberry) is a remedy that is used homeopathically for diseases of the upper abdomen, primarily of the liver and gall bladder. Berberis is particularly effective for gallstones and the colic they cause.
- Belladonna (deadly nightshade) also acts on the liver, gall bladder and pancreas. Cramp-like pain in particular is one of Belladonna's favourite remedies. The medicinal picture in the digestive tract is vomiting with cold sweats, aversion to milk and fatty foods as well as a painfully distended abdomen that is sensitive to touch.
- Chelidonium (celandine) shows inflammation, stone formation and chronic disorders of the hepatobiliary system. Symptoms of this disorder include pale yellow to grey stools that pass painlessly. Lachesis (secretion from the venom gland of the lance-shaped viper) is used in homeopathy for disorders of the liver and the associated bile.
- Lycopodium (lycopodium) has a similar medicinal picture to celandine. Inflammations and disorders of the gall bladder are in the foreground.
- Mentha piperita (peppermint) is used as an antiflatulent.
- Taraxacum (dandelion) is a frequently used homeopathic remedy for disorders of the hepatobiliary system. The medicinal picture shows a coated tongue and increased salivation.
