- For excessive gas formation and accumulation in the gastrointestinal tract (meteorism) with symptoms such as flatulence, a feeling of fullness and a sensation of tightness in the upper abdomen, which may be caused, for example, by swallowing air or by dietary errors.
- For increased gas formation following surgery and in cases of Roemheld’s syndrome.
- To prepare for diagnostic examinations of the abdominal region to reduce gas shadows (ultrasound scans, X-rays).
Dosage form
Directions for use
- Infants and bottle-fed babies under 2 years of age: 0.5 ml (8 drops) up to 4 times a day with milk feeds.
- Children aged 2 to 6 years: 1 ml (16 drops) 3 to 5 times a day with or after meals, taken with a little water; if necessary, also before bedtime.
- Children aged 7 to 14 years: 1.3 to 2 ml (21 to 32 drops) 3 to 5 times a day; the dose may be increased if necessary.
- Adolescents and adults: 2 to 3 ml (32 to 48 drops) 3 to 5 times a day; the dose may be increased if necessary.
- To prepare for an X-ray examination, 5 to 10 teaspoons (25 to 50 ml) of Antiflat dropsshould be takenthe evening before the examination .
- To prepare for an ultrasound scan (sonography),it is recommended to take 5 teaspoons (25 ml) of Antiflat drops the evening before and a further 5 teaspoons (25 ml) approximately 3 hours before the start of the examination.
- For oral use.
- Antiflat can be given with or after meals and mixes easily with cold and warm drinks (e.g. tea, water, milk) as well as bottle feeds and baby food. Antiflat drops should be shaken before use.
- The duration of treatment depends on the nature and course of the symptoms. Antiflat can be taken over a longer period if necessary.
- If symptoms persist or if the expected improvement does not occur, medical advice should be sought.
