Aconex 0.1% eye drops, 10 ML

Aconex 0.1% eye drops for the symptomatic treatment of non-infectious irritations of the conjunctiva.

Aconex has a vasoconstrictive effect, which leads to an immediate reduction of the mucous membranes.

ACONEX eye drops contain naphazoline as an active ingredient, which reduces swelling of the conjunctiva and inhibits non-bacterial conjunctivitis. If you do not feel better or even worse after 2 days of treatment, consult your doctor.

Caution: this medicine may impair your ability to react and your road safety. As with all eye drops, the short-term blurring of the visual field may temporarily impair the ability to drive and operate machinery. These activities should only be resumed once visual acuity has been fully restored.

Directions for use

• The recommended dose for adults is: 1 - 2 drops 1 - 2 times daily into the conjunctival sac. Please note that the maximum daily dose of 4 drops per day per affected eye must not be exceeded. The interval between individual doses should not be less than 3 hours.
• Use in children and adolescents: As no data are available on the efficacy and safety of ACONEX eye drops in children from 2 years of age and adolescents up to 18 years of age, use in this age group is not recommended. Aconex must not be used in infants under 2 years of age (see ACONEX - eye drops must not be used).

Route of administration:

For application to the eye. For instillation into the conjunctival sac of the diseased eye.

• Wash your hands carefully before use.
• Avoid contact between the tip of the bottle and the eye or eyelid.
• Insert 1 - 2 drops into each eye. Tilt your head back, look upwards and pull the lower eyelid slightly downwards.
• Close the eye for a few seconds without squeezing too much and then blink several times.
• Press gently with one finger on the corner of the eye next to the nose for as long as possible (e.g. 1 - 2 minutes). This helps to prevent the absorption of ACONEX eye drops into the body.
• Close the bottle after use.

If other topical eye medication is also being used, an interval of 10 minutes must be maintained between applications.

Duration of use:

• The maximum duration of application is 2 days. Use for more than 2 days may only be carried out after a medical examination and on a doctor's prescription and should be monitored continuously. There should be an interval of at least 3 hours between individual administrations. Treatment with Aconex eye drops should not be continued for longer than 7 days (as prescribed by the doctor). A break of 10 days should be observed before a new course of treatment.
