Product information "pure encapsulations® vitamin K & D capsules"
pure encapsulations® Vitamin K & D - As a powerful duo, vitamin K and D support the maintenance of healthy bones if the supply cannot be covered by the diet.
Vitamin K and D are fat-soluble micronutrients. Like vitamin D, your body needs vitamin K for bone formation. Vitamin K contributes to the maintenance of normal bones and also has an influence on blood clotting. As vitamins K and D are fat-soluble vitamins, you should always consume them at the same time as high-quality oils in order to increase their absorption.
What is vitamin K?
There are two naturally occurring forms of vitamin K, namely vitamin K1 (phylloquinone) and K2 (menaquinone). Vitamin K2 refers to several menaquinones that differ in the length of their side chain. While vitamin K1 is mainly found in the leaves of various green plants, vitamin K2 is produced exclusively by microorganisms.
Do you have to take vitamin D with K2?
The rumour that vitamin D must be taken together with K2 persists. Your body can absorb and utilise vitamin D and vitamin K separately. The combination of the two makes sense if you want to use the vitamins for your bones, because vitamin K supports the positive effects of vitamin D3 in bone metabolism. Vitamin K & D from Pure Encapsulations provides you with a good combination of vitamin D3, K2 and K1 and thus contributes to the maintenance of normal bones.
