Curcumin – the power of plants

Indian turmeric (Curcuma longa) belongs to the ginger family. Pure Encapsulations® Curcumin capsules provide you with valuable turmeric extract from the turmeric root, combined with piperine (black pepper extract). Curcumin is a natural plant extract derived from the roots of the turmeric plant (Curcuma longa). The plant is characterised by the essential oils and curcuminoids contained in its root. Traditionally, turmeric originates from South-East Asia, where it grows from India to China and Indonesia. Curcumin – also known as the ‘golden spice’ due to its characteristic colour – is produced from the dried and ground root. You may already be familiar with it from recipes for golden milk or golden honey. Did you know that curcumin has been used in Ayurveda for thousands of years to aid digestion? However, depending on the type of turmeric, the valuable curcuminoids are present in varying concentrations and compositions.

Piperine – Power from black pepper extract 

Piperine is an important component of black pepper (Piper nigrum): this alkaloid is responsible for the pungent taste of pepper corns. In many countries, pepper is a traditional part of the diet. It has long been said to have positive effects on health, such as aiding digestion. When combined, piperine from black pepper extract improves the bioavailability of curcumin in your body. On the one hand, black pepper extract supports the natural absorption of curcumin; on the other, it can protect curcumin from premature breakdown.

• Take 1×2 capsules per day with a meal and some liquid.
• Notes: Not intended for consumption by children and adolescents. Do not use during pregnancy and breastfeeding, or if you have gallstones.
