The exotic shrub Strophanthus Gratus, a species of liana, grows in the dry, hot forests of East Africa, often in mountainous areas. Young, egg-shaped leaves are hairy and later become wrinkled. From October to December, the plant bears white flowers in pairs with long, spiral-shaped petals. These develop into paired, pod-shaped seed heads, which burst open when ripe and release wind-dispersed seeds with flying hairs.

How to use
