Von Kopfschuppen spricht man, wenn es zu einer Überproduktion der Hautzellen auf der Kopfhaut kommt. Mögliche Ursachen gibt es viele: trockene Heizungsluft, Allergien, Hormonschwankungen, Stress, zu viel Haarpflege. Es kann aber auch ein Symptom anderer Krankheiten sein (etwa Neurodermitis). Um Kopfschuppen langfristig loszuwerden, braucht es ein spezielles Shampoo. Je nachdem, ob Sie unter fettigen oder unter trockenen Schuppen leiden, wird Ihnen Ihr Apotheker ein geeignetes Produkt empfehlen.

Zur Unterscheidung: Bei trockenen Kopfschuppen ist die Kopfhaut trocken und die weißen Schuppen fallen problemlos aus dem Haar. Von fettigen Kopfschuppen spricht man, wenn die Kopfhaut ölig ist und die Kopfschuppen gelblich sind. Bei dieser Variante lassen sich die Schuppen nur schwer aus dem Haar entfernen.
