- Millet seed extract contains valuable and essential hair nutrients and trace elements; in addition to a particularly high content of silicon (silicic acid), it also contains linoleic acid, phytosterols and the terpenoid miliacin.
- Grape seed extract is particularly rich in flavonoids (oligomeric proanthocyanidins = OPCs), which are particularly powerful antioxidants and can therefore help to protect cells from free radicals and premature damage. Grape seed extract also exerts its antioxidant effect in the skin, in particular. Various studies suggest that, thanks to its antioxidant properties, grape seed extract can have a positive influence on beautiful skin.
- Biotin ( originally called ‘vitamin H’ upon its discovery due to its functions) helps maintain healthy hair, plays an important role in cell division – including that of the scalp – and is essential for amino acid metabolism.
- The sulphur-containing amino acids L-cysteine and L-methionine are essential components of the hair. They are therefore included as key ingredients in the Hair Plus formula.
- L-arginine is an amino acid that plays a role in both regulating blood flow and hair growth.
- Pantothenic acid is important for maintaining normal levels of steroid hormones and supports a healthy hormonal balance.This B vitamin also contributes to healthy skin hydration and helps the skin protect itself against dryness.
- Vitamin C contributes to normal collagen synthesis. Collagen structures form, amongst other things, healthy hair, skin and scalp. It helps regenerate depleted vitamin E, which can protect against oxidative stress. Oxidative stress is one of the factors responsible for cells functioning abnormally or dying prematurely.
- Zinc and selenium help maintain normal, healthy hair, whilst the copper contained in amitamin® Hair Plus contributes to normal hair pigmentation, i.e. hair colour. It can also help protect cells and guard against oxidative stress.
- Iron is important for the normal functioning of the immune system and plays a key role in oxygen transport within the body, particularly in the transport of oxygen and energy to the hair roots. Women aged between 14 and their mid-fifties, in particular, require a high intake of iron.
