Vivus Natura Astaxanthin astafit® capsules are a dietary supplement containing astaxanthin, a natural antioxidant. Obtained from a natural source of astaxanthin from the microalgae Haematococcus pluvialis.

The microalgae with the mega effect - natural astaxanthin

In our product we rely on the branded raw material astafit® which, due to its astaxanthin content, is not called the red diamond among antioxidants for nothing. It is extracted from the freshwater microalgae Haemotocuccus pluvialis in a controlled process in closed photobioreactors in Austria.

Astaxanthin is the most powerful antioxidant known to date and is a naturally occurring carotenoid that gives marine organisms such as shrimps, crabs and krill a reddish colour.

The microalgae Haematococcus Pluvialis is considered an absolute survivor as it begins to store astaxanthin in its cells under unfavourable living conditions such as a lack of nutrients or UV radiation and changes colour from green to red. This protective mechanism ensures that the algae can survive for years until living conditions improve again.

Due to its molecular structure, astaxanthin has both lipophilic and hydrophilic properties and can protect the cell from the inside and outside as it penetrates the entire cell membrane. For example, it is 6,000 times stronger than vitamin C in neutralising singlet oxygen.

  • Ingredients: Astaxanthin AstaFit®, red algae calcium (Lithothamnium Calcareum), hydroxypropylmethylcellulose (capsule shell).
  • Composition per daily dose (2 capsules): 320 mg AstaFit® - Haematococcus pluviepluvialis algae, 8 mg of which astaxanthin, 80 mg red algae calcium.
