Product information "Vitaworld Maitake extract 500 mg capsules"
Vitaworld Maitake Extract 500 mg capsules are a dietary supplement containing 1000 mg maitake extract, including 100 mg polysaccharides per daily dose.
Grifolia frondosa is also known in Japan under its Japanese name maitake, which means "dancing mushroom" or "dancing fungus". The reason for the name is supposedly that the finders often performed a happy dance when they found the rare mushroom. In Japan and China, maitake has been consumed since 3000 BC and is both a popular edible mushroom and part of traditional Chinese medicine.
At 50% to 60%, maitake has an extremely high polysaccharide content, which is particularly valued for its antioxidant power. It also contains vitamins B1, B2, B3, B5 and D as well as the trace elements iron, zinc, magnesium, phosphorus and potassium. Also of interest are the beta-D-glucans, which are present in maitake extract in a particularly pure and bioactive form. Maitake is also valued for its strengthening effect on the immune system. The vitamin D precursor ergosterol, which is also contained in maitake, can support the incorporation of calcium into the bones.
From the point of view of traditional Chinese medicine, maitake has a connection to the spleen, bladder and kidney functional circuits. It also has an immunomodulating effect.
For our maitake extract, the soluble parts of the mushroom powder are dissolved and then evaporated, leaving a concentrate that contains the therapeutically important secondary ingredients in optimum availability.
