Vitalworld Potassium Citrate Capsules are a dietary supplement containing 605 mg potassium per daily dose.

Potassium is a mineral that is involved in numerous vital processes within the body: it regulates the water balance and blood pressure, is involved in the transmission of nerve and muscle cell impulses and plays an important role in energy production and in the gastrointestinal tract.

The body normally regulates the potassium balance very well. A potassium deficiency is very rare and excess potassium is simply excreted by the body. However, certain external influences can lead to an imbalance in potassium levels. Excess potassium is usually associated with the intake of certain medications, reduced kidney function or a blood pH value that is too low. Taking diuretics, severe diarrhoea or a blood pH value that is too high can lead to a potassium deficiency. An additional intake of potassium is often recommended in such cases.
