The Vitalograph 4300 is a modern device for measuring the maximum exhalation rate (peak flow) of a patient. This value is used to monitor asthma, for example. The product is intended for use by one person. If the Peak Flow Meter is to be used by several people, disposable mouthpieces and corresponding adapters can be ordered separately.

Setting the traffic light scheme: The coloured zone markers can be individually set by healthcare professionals using a pen to define threshold areas for implementing the asthma action plan.

Operating the peak flow meter:

1. Slide the pointer to the lower end of the measurement scale.
2. Hold the device horizontally in front of your mouth.
3. Breathe in as deeply as possible.
4. Firmly enclose the mouthpiece with your lips.
5. Breathe out as FIRMLY and as QUICKLY as possible for one second or longer.
6. Make sure that the airflow is not blocked by your tongue or teeth. "Spitting" or coughing will lead to incorrect measurement results.
7. Make a note of the measured value.
8. Repeat steps 1 to 7 three times and note the highest value.
9. Take appropriate action according to your personal asthma treatment plan.

Cleaning: Clean the outer surfaces after each use. We recommend using a conventional cloth soaked in alcohol (70 % IPA). Pay particular attention to the mouthpiece area when cleaning.

Instructions for use: The device measures peak expiratory flow (PEF) in adults and children aged 5 years and older in primary care, clinics, hospitals and at home under the supervision of healthcare professionals.
