Tussastopp oral solution is a fast-acting and effective cough suppressant. The active ingredient dextromethorphan in Tussastopp inhibits the urge to cough by inhibiting the cough reflex in the brainstem.

Indications

For the treatment of irritating coughs and spasmodic coughs with various causes, e.g. colds, flu-like infections and smoker's cough.

Self-treatment with Tussastopp should not last longer than 3 - 5 days. If the cough has not disappeared after a treatment period of 3 - 5 days or has not decreased significantly or has even worsened or if complications occur, consult your doctor.

Directions for use

Adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over: 10 - 15 mg every 4 to 6 hours (1 -1½ measuring spoons of 5ml). The maximum daily dose is 60 mg. It should not be taken more than 4 times a day.
Children under 12 years of age: The medicine isnot suitable for these patients due to the amount of active substance contained in one dose.
Method of administration: To take the solution, use the enclosed measuring spoon by filling itwith solution up to therespective mark.Rinse the measuring spoon after use.
Duration of use: Self-treatment with Tussastopp should not last longer than 3 - 5 days. Evenif prescribed by a doctor, treatment with Tussastopp should not last longer than 2 - 3 weeks.
Note for diabetics: This medicine has a low sugar content.

The active substance is dextromethorphan.5 ml solution contains 10 mg dextromethorphan hydrobromide.
The other ingredients are:sodium benzoate, anhydrous citric acid, maltitol solution, saccharin sodium, propylene glycol, strawberry flavouring, Contramarum flavouring, purified water.
