Directions for use
- Only open the airtight packaging of the heat pad immediately before use.
- Do not cut into the heat patch.
- Remove the protective film from the heat patch to expose the adhesive surface.
- Apply to the painful area with the adhesive side facing the skin.
- See the ‘Instructions for Use’ section for information on where ThermaCare® must not be used.
- It may take up to 30 minutes for ThermaCare® to reach its therapeutic temperature
- Remove the product after 8 hours.
- Never heat the heat patch in an oven, microwave or by any other means – there is a risk of fire!
- People under the age of 55 may wear the heat patches at night: it has been clinically proven that using ThermaCare® overnight significantly reduces pain upon waking and markedly improves flexibility. From the age of 55, the risk of burns increases. If you are aged 55 or over, wear ThermaCare® over thin clothing and do not wear it whilst sleeping.
- Consult your doctor before use if you have diabetes, poor circulation, heart disease or rheumatoid arthritis, or if you are pregnant.
- Stop using the product and consult a doctor if you experience discomfort, a burning sensation, swelling, a rash or other skin changes that persist at the site where the wrap is worn; or if your pain worsens or remains unchanged after 7 days.
- This product may cause burns or blisters. Check your skin regularly whilst using the product. If you notice any irritation or burns, remove the product immediately.
- For users who are unable to look after themselves, or for users aged between 12 and 18: Supervision by a carer is required. Aged 55 or over: Your risk of burns increases with age. If you are aged 55 or over, wear ThermaCare® over thin clothing and do not wear it whilst sleeping. Consult your doctor before use if you have diabetes, circulatory problems, heart disease or rheumatoid arthritis, or if you are pregnant.
- Stop using the product and consult a doctor if you experience discomfort, burns, swelling, rashes or persistent changes to your skin in the area of application, and if your pain lasts for more than 7 days or worsens.
- If swallowed, please seek professional medical assistance immediately.
- In the event of skin or eye contact, remove the heat wrap, rinse the affected area with water and seek professional medical assistance immediately.
- If the heat patch becomes damaged or tears during use, remove it.
- If the contents of the heat cell are leaking and/or the packaging is damaged or torn
- in conjunction with topical preparations
- On damaged, broken or injured skin
- On areas with bruises or swelling that have occurred within the last 48 hours
- For people who are unable to follow all instructions for use or remove the product
- With other forms of heat
- Under the age of 12
- On the face/head, breasts, fingers, groin, toes, the back of the knees, the inside of the arm, the armpit or the lower abdomen.
