Thealoz® Duo eye drops multi-dose, 30 ML

Thealoz® Duo eye drops are used to protect, moisturise and moisten the eye in the treatment of moderate to severe symptoms of dry eyes.

Thealoz® Duo is recommended for the treatment of dry, reddened, watery and tired eyes. It is a solution without preservatives and is also suitable for contact lens wearers.

A main ingredient of Thealoz® Duo is trehalose, a natural substance (disaccharide). One of the most fascinating properties of trehalose is that it enables numerous plants, insects and microorganisms to survive long periods of drought, extreme heat or cold, as well as extreme exposure to oxidative stress or UV radiation, by protecting their cells from damage caused by these influences (e.g. dehydration). As a result, Thealoz® Duo effectively protects the surface of the eye from damage caused by dryness, heat, cold, oxidative stress and UV light.

The second main ingredient (hence Duo) is hyaluronic acid. It serves as a natural lubricant that prevents the eyelid from rubbing against the cornea. Hyaluronic acid improves the stability of the tear film and promotes the regeneration of the corneal and conjunctival epithelium.

Thealoz® Duo is available in the patented multi-dose ABAK® system as a phosphate-free and pH-neutral solution without preservatives, which can be used for 3 months after opening. When the ABAK® bottle is pressed, the solution flows through the antibacterial filter membrane (0.2 µm). When the pressure on the bottle is released, the solution is reabsorbed and filtered from air and bacteria. The patented ABAK® system guarantees reliable protection against bacterial contamination. This makes Thealoz® Duo ideal for use after eye surgery, LASIK or laser therapy. Regardless of the pressure applied, the ABAK® bottle always releases the same drop size. This drop size is sufficient to fill the conjunctival sac.

How to use

• If required, 1 drop in each eye several times a day during the day. Thealoz® Duo can be used while wearing contact lenses.
• Instructions and method of application: Wash your hands thoroughly before use. Do not use any tools to open the bottle. When you use Thealoz® Duo for the first time, you will notice that it takes longer for the first drop to come out due to the unique filter system in the bottle (see product description). Gently pull the lower eyelid down, look up and place a drop in the conjunctival sac. Close the eye gently after use and screw the cap back onto the bottle after use.

Composition: Trehalose 3 g, sodium hyaluronate 0.15 g, sodium chloride, trometamol, HCI, water for injection q.s. ad 100 ml.
