Basil of the linalool chemotype has a fresh, herbaceous fragrance. The essential oil is extracted from the leaves and stems of the basil plant. It is suitable for the production of fragrant creams, lotions and perfumes, for example. It can also be used as a refreshing bath additive or in massage oils.

TAOASIS basil oil in certified organic or Demeter quality is obtained by the process of steam distillation - selective and particularly gentle in production. The TAOASIS organic seal also guarantees fair and sustainable production.

How can I use organic basil oil?

Organic basil oil has many properties that can be used on the skin or as a room fragrance. In its country of origin, India, basil has a high status in Ayurvedic medicine, the traditional Indian art of healing, and is highly valued for its many positive properties.

It is therefore often used in aromatherapy to treat melancholy, stress and worry. Its spicy freshness manages to push negative thoughts into the background and free our hearts from everyday burdens. It is also used as a room fragrance to stimulate the appetite. Organic basil oil is perfect for a revitalising relaxing bath after an exhausting day: Add 8-10 drops of TAOASIS organic basil oil with a tablespoon of sea salt to a full bath and simply let go for 15-20 minutes.

For external use on the skin, this versatile oil is often used as an ingredient in creams. However, it should only be used in diluted form without coming into contact with the eyes or mucous membranes. In general, organic basil oil harmonises well with bergamot, rose geranium, lemon balm, rosewood, juniper and cypress oils.
