Supaeye® capsules help to support the body’s own tear production from within. A dietary supplement containing maqui berry extract (MaquiBright®) and algae oil extract (DHA). An innovative approach to eye moisturisation.

Supaeye® is a combination of maqui berry extract (MaquiBright®), algae oil extract (DHA), vitamin B2, vitamin B3 and biotin.

Almost one in five people suffer from a lack of lubrication on the surface of the eye, known as ‘dry eye’. This condition occurs when the eyes do not produceenough tears.

There are many causes of dry eyes and dry mucous membranes, such as various environmental factors. Air conditioning and overheated rooms draw moisture away from the eyes and mucous membranes. Dry eyes and mucous membranes can also result from intensive screen use and wearing contact lenses . Regularly moisturising the mucous membranes protects them from drying out. Vitamins B2, B3 and biotin (B7) help maintain normal mucous membranes.

B vitamins

Vitamin B2 and biotin are present in Supaeye® in their biologically active forms and are precisely balanced with the vitamin B3 it contains . Direct supplementation of B vitamins in their co-enzymatic forms ensuresgreater bioavailability and better absorption into the body’s cells .

The functions of vitamins B2, B3 and biotin (B7) in the body:

Vitamin B2 helps maintain normal mucous membranes and normal vision.
Vitamin B3 helps maintain normal mucous membranes.
Biotin helps maintain normal mucous membranes.

Algae oil

The valuable omega-3 fatty acids DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) contained in Supaeye®are derivedfrom the oil of a specific microalgae (Schizochytrium sp.).

The role of DHA in the body:

The algae oil extract contained in Supaeye®has a particularly high concentration of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) , which, as one of the polyunsaturated essential fatty acids, helpsmaintain normal vision .*

The algal oil used in Supaeye® also offers an excellent alternative for vegetarians and vegans who do not eat fish. It is also the preferred option for people with allergies, as the algae oil contains no allergenic fish proteins. Omega-3 fatty acids are important components of the cells responsible for vision and sensory perception and also play a rolein forming the stabilising lipid layer of the tear film . If this outer layer ofthe tear film is disrupted, it leads to the typical symptoms of dry eyes, such as redness, itching or a burning sensation. They also reduce the rate at which tears evaporate.

Maqui berry

The maqui berry (Aristotelia chilensis) isnative exclusively to the wild forests of Patagonia in Chile and Argentina . It is characterised above all by a high content of a particularly effective group of flavonoids known as anthocyanins. Thanks to its standardisation ,the maqui berry extract contained in Supaeye®– MaquiBright® – always containsat least 25 per cent delphinidin and at least 35 per cent total anthocyanins. A clinical study has demonstrated the proven bioavailability of these key active compounds in MaquiBright ®. After four weeks of taking MaquiBright®, there was an 89 per cent increase in tear production.

* The essential fatty acid DHA helps maintain normal vision when taken at a daily dose of 250 mg.

Directions for use

Adultsshould take one Supaeye® algae oil capsule (labelled green) and one Supaeye® maqui berry capsule (labelled purple) daily , regardless of mealtimes, without chewing and with plenty of liquid.
Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Food supplements are not a substitute for a varied and balanced diet, which, together with a healthy lifestyle, is important. Keep out of reach of young children. Store in a dry place at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C.
