Solaray Liposomal Vitamin C 500 mg capsules are a food supplement with liposomal vitamin C from ascorbyl palmitate and sunflower liposomes.

Fat-soluble vitamin C with sunflower liposomes

Liposomal forms encapsulate vitamin C in tiny lipid spheres called liposomes. These liposomes function as a means of transport for the vitamin C. The lipid envelope and its contents are very easily absorbed by the lipid bilayer (fatty acid) of which the cell membranes are made, thus bypassing the limitations of absorption capacity as with other dosage forms.

Liposomal forms therefore increase the vitamin C absorption capacity and are also mild and gentle on the stomach.
Liposomal vitamin C from Solaray uses liposomes obtained from sunflowers.
Vitamin C is a component of numerous enzymes and is therefore essential for many metabolic processes. As an important antioxidant, vitamin C is necessary for cell protection and combating free radicals.
Foods rich in vitamin C include papaya, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, oranges, strawberries, peppers, grapefruit and potatoes.
