Siccaforte® Eye Gel is a clear, colourless, instillable eye gel that has properties similar to those of the eye’s natural tears. Siccaforte® Eye Gel is therefore used as a substitute for natural tears to provide symptomatic relief from eye irritation caused by a lack of or insufficient tear production (‘dry eyes’). Siccaforte® Eye Gel prevents or reduces unpleasant dryness in the eye for up to 6 hours after application. This helps to relieve irritated, reddened eyes.
Siccaforte® Eye Gel is suitable for all symptoms of dry eyes. It provides long-lasting relief from discomfort associated with mechanical stress:
- Environmental stress: sun, wind, cold, smoke, air conditioning and heated air
- Visual strain, e.g. from intensive computer use
- Advanced age
- Treatment with antidepressants, anxiolytics, hormones and antihistamines

Directions for use
For instillation into the conjunctival sac. Always use Siccaforte® eye gel exactly as described in this leaflet. Please check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not entirely sure. Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, the dosage must be adhered to.
Dosage:
Adults:
- Apply 1 to 2 drops of gel into the conjunctival sac 2 to 4 times a day and before going to bed. Hold the tube vertically downwards when administering the drops. If using other eye drops at the same time, allow at least 5–10 minutes between applying the different products; if also using an eye ointment, allow 15 minutes.
- Siccaforte® Eye Gel may prolong the retention time of other eye drops in the eye and thus enhance their effect. To avoid this, Siccaforte® Eye Gel should always be applied last. Contact lenses should not be worn during treatment with Siccaforte® Eye Gel, as this could potentially lead to incompatibility with the lens material.
