Sensicutan ointment, 30 G

The effectiveness of Sensicutan ointment, which is cortisone-free, is down to its unique combination of active ingredients: alpha-bisabolol (the main component of camomile) reduces inflammation and helps to restore the damaged skin barrier, whilst heparin relieves unpleasant itching.

Sensicutan ointment is thenatural, cortisone-free alternative for inflammatory and intensely itchy skin conditions.

Sensicutan ointment is therefore ideally suited as an adjunctive treatment for:

• acute and chronic eczema
• inflammatory and allergic skin reactions
• atopic dermatitis and psoriasis

Active ingredients

• Alpha-bisabolol is known as the active ingredient in chamomile. This plant-based substance has anti-inflammatory, soothing and regenerative properties. Numerous scientific studies have been conducted on this skin-friendly active ingredient, confirming its dermatological safety. The mechanism of action is based on blocking prostaglandin synthesis, thereby reducing the release of inflammatory mediators.
• Sodium heparin has anti-inflammatory properties and, due to its antihistamine effect, also has anti-allergic properties; it plays a key role, in particular, in relieving itching. This is because sodium heparin has the ability to bind certain substances that are released in increased quantities in eczema (such as histamines) and which can therefore trigger the agonising itching.

The distinctive feature of this combination of active ingredients is that the two active ingredients complement and reinforce each other. Last but not least, alpha-bisabolol and heparin help to promote the regeneration of the damaged skin epithelium.

Directions for use

Ointment for external use. Apply the ointment to the affected areas of skin 2–3 times a day. Also suitable for children aged 3 years and over.

• Indications: Adults, adolescents and children aged 3 years and over with inflammatory, non-infectious, intensely itchy and allergic skin conditions, e.g. acute and chronic eczema, atopic dermatitis (neurodermatitis).
• Restrictions on use: Open wounds. Mucous membranes.
• Warning: Contains sorbic acid.

Composition: 100 g of Sensicutan® contain: Active ingredients: (-)-alpha-bisabolol 0.30 g, sodium heparin 20,000 IU.

Other ingredients: mixture of cetyl and stearyl alcohol, macrogol cetyl alcohol ether, sweet almond oil, medium-chain triglycerides, tetradecan-1-ol, citric acid, collagen polypeptides, all-rac-alpha-tocopherol acetate, dexpanthenol, purified water, preservatives: sorbic acid, salicylic acid.
