The effect of the cortisone-free Sensicutan ointment is based on its unique combination of active ingredients: alpha-bisabolol (the main component of camomile) inhibits inflammation and regenerates the damaged skin's protective barrier, while heparin relieves the unpleasant itching.

Active ingredients

• Alpha-bisabolol is known as the active ingredient of camomile. This herbal substance has an anti-inflammatory, soothing and regenerative effect. Numerous scientific studies have been carried out on this skin-friendly active ingredient, which have shown that its use is dermatologically proven. The mechanism of action is based on blocking prostaglandin synthesis so that fewer inflammatory mediators are released.
• Heparin sodium has an anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic effect due to its antihistamine effect and plays a key role in relieving itching in particular. This is because heparin sodium has the ability to bind certain substances that are increasingly released in eczema (such as histamines) and can therefore trigger the agonising itching.

The special feature of this combination of active ingredients is that they complement and reinforce each other. alpha-bisabolol and heparin also ensure that the regeneration of the damaged skin epithelium is promoted.

Application form

Ointment for external use. Apply the ointment 2-3 times a day to the affected areas of skin. Also suitable for children from 3 years of age.

• Indications: Adults, adolescents and children from 3 years of age for inflammatory, non-infectious, very itchy and allergic skin diseases, e.g. acute and chronic eczema, atopic dermatitis (neurodermatitis).
• Restrictions on use: Open injuries. Mucous membranes.
• Warning: Contains sorbic acid.
