- The B-complex vitamins often occur together in nature and complement one another. As water-soluble nutrients, they are essential for numerous biochemical processes in the body. Vitamins B6 and B12 – the latter included as the proven MHA formula comprising three bioactive forms of the vitamin – support energy metabolism. Pantothenic acid (B5) contributes to mental performance, whilst folic acid (B9) supports normal psychological function. Of particular note here is the high proportion of activated methylfolate, which is known for its excellent bioavailability.
- Selected plant extracts from lady’s mantle (Alchemilla vulgaris) and lemon balm (Melissa officinalis), as well as cranberry extract (Vaccinium macrocarpon), which is guaranteed to contain only proanthocyanidins from the cranberry fruit, are packed with valuable nutrients. Brown millet seed extract, silica derived from diatoms (silica algae) and hyaluronic acid support a radiant glow from within. Biotin, selenium and zinc make a valuable contribution to the maintenance of healthy skin, hair and nails.
- The highly bioavailable trace elements iron, copper, manganese and zinc, as well as iodine, molybdenum, selenium and chromium, complete the nutrient complex. Silica also contains the trace element silicon.
- Plant-based antioxidants are derived from the fruit of the prickly pear (Opuntia ficus indica) and from bitter orange extract (Citrus x aurantium), which is standardised to contain 60% citrus bioflavonoids. OPC grape seed extract (Vitis vinifera), obtained using a particularly gentle extraction process, contains what are known as ‘oligomeric proanthocyanidins’, from which the abbreviation ‘OPC’ is derived. Rhodiola rosea, an adaptogen, rounds off the formulation; it has been carefully harvested in the Taiga Mountains and gently processed into an extract.
