SOLARVIT® Immune Duo forte tablets contain vitamin D3 and vitamin K2 in a high-dose form. This combination supports the normal function of the immune system, promotes bone health and contributes to a healthy calcium balance.

Vitamin D requirements

In Europe, the population often has a need for additional vitamin D. Like vitamin K, fat-soluble vitamin D is not only essential for maintaining bones, but also makes a valuable contribution to maintaining a healthy immune system. It also supports the calcium balance and muscle function.

Vitamin D can be ingested through food or produced through sun exposure of the skin. A rule of thumb says: if the shadow is longer than the height of the body, there is almost no vitamin D production in the skin. The use of sunscreen (which is important to protect the skin from harmful UV-B rays) or clothing (which covers large parts of the body even in summer) reduces the production of vitamin D in the summer months. The skin's ability to synthesise vitamin D also decreases with age. This makes it all the more important to keep a close eye on your vitamin D levels.

Vitamin K

Vitamin K can be absorbed through food or synthesised in the intestine.

Like vitamin D, vitamin K belongs to the group of fat-soluble vitamins. It occurs in 2 different forms: Plants, especially green leafy vegetables, produce what is known as vitamin K1 (phylloquinone), which can be absorbed through food. In contrast to vitamin K1 (phylloquinone), which is mainly found in the chloroplasts of green plants, vitamin K2 (menaquinone) is formed by microorganisms - including the bacteria in our own intestinal flora - and can be absorbed directly via the intestinal cells. Raw sauerkraut, butter, egg yolk, liver, some types of cheese and the fermented soya product natto are also sources of vitamin K2.

Solarvit® Immun Duo forte tablets contain vitamin K in a particularly bioavailable form: Solarvit® Immun Duo forte tablets contain vitamin K2 in the MK7 all-trans form. Current studies indicate that vitamin K2 MK7 has the highest bioavailability of all vitamin K forms and can be detected in the blood for a particularly long time. Solarvit® Immun Duo forte tablets contain highly bioavailable vitamin D3 and vitamin K2 with 99 % highly bioavailable trans isomers ("all-trans").

Directions

• Take 1 tablet daily with a little liquid. The tablet can be chewed, sucked or taken whole and is easy to swallow. Regular supplementation over a longer period of time is recommended.
  
• Advice: Use in children, during pregnancy and breastfeeding or in people taking anticoagulants after consulting a doctor or pharmacist. May have a laxative effect if consumed in excess.
