Directions for use
- Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age: 3–4 drops in each nostril, 2–4 times a day. For diagnostic purposes: 4 drops of Rhinoperd nasal drops in each nostril or insertion of soaked cotton wool swabs for 1–2 minutes.
- Children aged 6–12 years: 2–3 drops in each nostril 1–3 times a day. The use of Rhinoperd nasal drops is not recommended for children aged 2 to 6 years. If use is necessary, Rhinoperd nasal drops may only be administered to children aged 2 to 6 years on medical advice. Rhinoperd nasal drops must not be used in children under 2 years of age.
- Method of administration: For instillation into the nose (for nasal use). After thoroughly clearing the nose (blowing your nose), tilt your head back and instil the drops into each nostril; whilst doing so, hold the other nostril closed with your finger and breathe in briefly with your mouth closed.
- Duration of use: In most cases, treatment for up to 5 days is sufficient. Treatment with Rhinoperd nasal drops should not last longer than 7 days, and in children not longer than 5 days. A break of at least 10 days must be observed before starting a new course of treatment. If you do not feel any better after 3 days, or if your condition worsens, consult your doctor. Rhinoperd nasal drops are not suitable for long-term use, as this may lead to chronic swelling (and consequently a blocked nose again) and ultimately to atrophy of the nasal mucosa.
