Reloxan® fruit-flavoured chewable tablets are a medical device for the rapid and long-lasting relief of heartburn and acid-related stomach discomfort. For adults and young people aged 12 and over.

Recurring acid-related stomach complaints, such as heartburn, acid reflux or persistent pressure in the stomach, are unpleasant and can be exacerbated, for example, in stressful situations or by certain foods and medicines.

This is where Reloxan® chewable tablets can help. The unique combination of mineral acid buffers (calcium and magnesium carbonate) and highly concentrated plant-based protective substances from the prickly pear cactus combats acid-related symptoms in two ways.

Excess stomach acid is quickly neutralised. This leads to rapid relief from acute symptoms such as heartburn and acid reflux. At the same time, a soothing protective film forms over the irritated lining of the oesophagus and stomach.
The active ingredients – magnesium carbonate, calcium carbonate and prickly pear extract – are released as soon as the tablets are chewed. This means they are immediately available in the stomach and can take effect straight away. The symptoms subside quickly.

What is heartburn and how is it treated?

Heartburn is usually experienced as a burning sensation in the stomach, which can radiate up into the chest. It is caused by an excess of stomach acid and the reflux of stomach contents into the oesophagus. This can also lead to inflammation and pain in the oesophagus, for example. Stress, unhealthy eating habits and eating too quickly are common triggers of these symptoms.

Reloxan® is vegan: Reloxan® can be safely combined with a vegan diet. It contains no animal-derived ingredients whatsoever.
Reloxan® can be taken several times a day: thanks to the good tolerability of its ingredients, you can take Reloxan® chewable tablets daily, up to four tablets per day. You can also use Reloxan® over a longer period of up to 30 days*, but for no longer than 14 days without a break.

Directions for use

Unless otherwise recommended, adults and adolescents aged 12 and over should take 1 chewable tablet as a single dose as required. If necessary, 1 chewable tablet may be taken up to 4 times a day.
Reloxan® chewable tablets should preferably be taken one hour after meals, or as required before bedtime or at other times during the day. The chewable tablets can be sucked or chewed. Reloxan® chewable tablets may interact with orally administered medicines; therefore, take Reloxan® chewable tablets at least 12 hours apart from these medicines and inform your doctor.
Notes*: Do not take for longer than 30 days. If symptoms persist, consult a doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice. Note for diabetics: 1 chewable tablet contains up to 0.56 g of sorbitol. May have a laxative effect if taken in excess. Prolonged use of high doses could lead to a potentially serious condition known as milk-alkali syndrome (Burnett’s syndrome). This condition is associated with high blood calcium levels (e.g. hypercalcaemia), reduced kidney function and, in isolated cases, pancreatitis, and may manifest as a frequent urge to urinate, headaches, loss of appetite, nausea or vomiting, and unusual tiredness or weakness. It is therefore recommended that Reloxan® chewable tablets should not be taken for more than 14 days without a break and that no more than 4 tablets should be taken per day. Excessive calcium intake, particularly with a calcium-rich diet (e.g. milk, cream, cheese, yoghurt, calcium supplements), should be avoided. If you are taking a thiazide diuretic (a medicine for high blood pressure or heart failure), please consult your doctor before use. In individuals who are sensitised to it, the menthol contained in peppermint oil may cause hypersensitivity reactions (including shortness of breath).
Warnings: In case of hypersensitivity or allergy to any of the other ingredients. In the event of hereditary fructose intolerance. In children and adolescents under 12 years of age. In the event of kidney problems (e.g. kidney stones, impaired kidney function). In the event of excessively high calcium levels in the blood or urine. In the event of an excessively low phosphate level in the blood.

Each chewable tablet contains: 450 mg calcium carbonate, 50 mg magnesium carbonate, 75 mg prickly pear extract, sorbitol, maize starch, maltodextrin, passion fruit flavouring, magnesium stearate.
