- One in seven couples who wish to have a child do not get pregnant straight away. There can be various reasons for this: Stress, too much pressure of expectation or medical reasons. For example, a vaginal environment that is too acidic or an insufficient number of sperm capable of fertilisation. Many women don't even realise that the pH value in the vagina affects fertility. Normally, the pH value around ovulation is less acidic (= high pH e.g. 6 - 7).

This is because the sperm are sensitive and quickly become infertile in an acidic vaginal environment. This increases the likelihood of an egg being fertilised.
