Directions for use
- Adults: Apply to the affected area every four hours.
- Mode of application: For application to the skin. Phytovir is applied to the affected lip area approximately every four hours during the day. Treatment should begin as soon as possible after the first symptoms such as tingling, itching or burning appear. Hands should be washed before and after applying the cream to prevent the infection from spreading.
- Duration of use: Until the symptoms have subsided or for a maximum of 10 days. If you do not feel better or even worse after 10 days, consult your doctor.
- Use in children and adolescents: Use in children and adolescents under the age of 18 is not recommended due to a lack of data.
Ingredients
- The active ingredients are: standardised dry extract of rhubarb, dry extract of sage leaves 1 g contains: 23 mg standardised dry extract of rhubarb root (Rhei radix, DEV (drug extract ratio) 3-6:1, extractant ethanol 70 % V/V) corresponding to 92-138 mg hydroxyanthracene derivatives, calculated as rhein and 18.4 mg dry extract of sage leaves (Salviae officinalis folium, DEV 4-7:1, extractant water).
- The other ingredients are: Methyl parahydroxybenzoate, propyl parahydroxybenzoate, propylene glycol, glycerol 85 %, purified water, sodium dodecyl sulphate, cetylstearyl alcohol, adeps lanae (wool wax), isopropyl myristate, lactose monohydrate and highly dispersed anhydrous silicon dioxide.
