Product information "Dr Böhm® Motherwort forte 200 mg film-coated tablets"
Dr Böhm® Motherwort forte 200 mg film-coated tablets are a traditional herbal medicine for the prevention of migraine-like headaches (migraine headache) after serious underlying diseases have been ruled out by a doctor.
Feverfew (Tanaceti parthenii herba) is an ancient medicinal plant originally native to the Mediterranean region.
This medicinal product is a traditional herbal medicinal product registered solely on the basis of many years of use for the stated indication. This medicinal product is used in adults aged 18 years and over. If you do not feel better or even worse after 2 months, consult your doctor.
Feverfew works before the pain arises
Dr Böhm® Motherwort forte ("Migraine Headache") contains pure motherwort, the herbal remedy for migraine, in a highly effective dosage (200 mg). It has a targeted and direct effect exactly where migraines originate - in the blood vessels in the head.
When taken long term, it inhibits their dilation with its active ingredient parthenolide and thus prevents the typical throbbing headache.
According to the scientific literature, feverfew has three positive effects in the prevention of migraines:
- Feverfew has an early effect - even before the pain begins.
- Parthenolide from feverfew inhibits the dilation of blood vessels in the head
- Prevents inflammatory processes that cause the pain.
Feverfew
- Feverfew (Tanacetum parthenium) is a medicinal plant that has been used successfully for headaches since the 18th century. In England, it was used more and more frequently for headaches and toothache as well as fever. This gave it the nickname "feverfew" and "aspirin of the English". At that time, the plant was also used to treat women's illnesses - which is where the name feverfew comes from. It belongs to the composite plant family and is often confused with chamomile due to its similarity.
- Thanks to scientific studies, it is now known that feverfew can significantly reduce the frequency of migraine headaches and thus also accompanying symptoms such as nausea and vomiting when taken over a long period of time. This means that painkillers need to be taken less frequently, which also reduces the risk of painkiller-induced headaches. Migraine patients therefore benefit twice over from this effective medicinal plant.
- Important to know: As the effect builds up continuously, feverfew tablets should be taken long-term.
