The Pater Severin elecampane blossom spray is a dietary supplement based on an old monastery recipe for ingestion. Made from a 100 % aqueous/alcoholic extract of elecampane flowers.
Elecampane (Inula helenium) belongs to the Asteraceae family. It has been known since ancient times as a spice and medicinal plant. Its ingredients include inulin, essential oil, alanthic acid, camphor, helenin and resins. This plant is mainly used to treat coughs and asthma. The essential oils of elecampane have an expectorant effect and can therefore make it easier to cough. Used externally in the form of tea or diluted tincture for washes, baths or compresses, elecampane can help with skin inflammations, ulcers, eczema or poorly healing wounds.
