- The functioning of the immune system is linked to an adequate intake of nutrients (micronutrients and macronutrients). As the individual components consist predominantly of cells that regenerate rapidly, a good supply of micronutrients is important.
- The body’s immune competence is therefore determined, amongst other things, by the intake of micronutrients such as vitamins C, D, E and A, and the trace elements selenium and zinc.
