Dosage form
How to use
- Adults: The recommended dose is 1 drop four times a day or more frequently as required, depending on the symptoms. If a drop misses the eye, try again. If you are using other eye drops or eye gels/ointments, you should leave at least 5 minutes between applications. Oculotect Fluid eye drops should always be used last.
- Children and adolescents: No data are available.
- Elderly patients 65 years: No adjustment of the dosage is necessary.
- Duration of use: Once you have started treatment, you may only use the eye drops for 4 weeks after first opening.
- Advice: Do not ingest! Do not use the vial if the seal around the cap is not intact when first opened. The solution remains sterile until the cap is opened for the first time. The dropper must not come into contact with any surface, including the eye, as this may cause injury and contaminate the solution. This medicine is intended for use on the eye. Wash your hands thoroughly before using the medicine. To avoid infection, do not touch the eye or the area around the eye with the tip of the vial. Close the vial immediately after use.
- Method of application: For use in the eye only, for instillation into the conjunctival sac. Do not ingest! Do not use the vial if the seal around the cap is not intact when first opened. The solution remains sterile until the cap is opened for the first time. The dropper must not come into contact with any surface, including the eye or the area around the eye, as the solution will become contaminated.
- Gently pull down the lid of the eye that needs treatment until a small "pocket" is formed.
- Turn the bottle upside down and squeeze until 1 drop enters the eyelid.
- Leave the eyelid out and close and open the eye several times.
- Repeat steps 1 - 3 on the other eye if it also needs treatment.
Ingredients
- The active ingredient is: povidone (K25). 1 ml solution contains 50 mg povidone (K25).
- 1 drop contains 1.5 mg povidone (K25) or corresponds to 30 μl solution.
- The other ingredients are Benzalkonium chloride, sodium chloride, potassium chloride, boric acid, magnesium chloride hexahydrate, calcium chloride dihydrate, sodium lactate, 1_N sodium hydroxide solution for pH adjustment, water for injection.
