The OXY-ONE Neo finger pulse oximeter is a compact and user-friendly device for measuring oxygen saturation and pulse rate. Ideal for home health monitoring.

The OXY-ONE Neo is a small and powerful digital finger pulse oximeter for quick measurements of arterial oxygen saturation. The device has a colour display showing SpO2 and pulse as well as a graph for pulse rate monitoring. The OXY-ONE Neo is particularly inexpensive and extremely light with a total weight of just 50 g including batteries. Only two standard AAA batteries are required to operate the OXY-ONE Neo.

Operation is child's play. Switch on by pressing a button and insert your finger into the opening provided. You can then see whether your finger is positioned correctly by looking at the pulse curve shown on the display. The appropriate values appear after approx. 5 seconds: SpO2 and pulse. As soon as you remove your finger from the device, the device switches off automatically.

Measuring principle

This is how the oximeter works: The pulse oximeter sends a sensor into a pulsating arterial vascular bed. The sensor contains a double light source and a photo detector. The wavelength of one light source is 660 Nm, i.e. it is red light; the other is 905 Nm, i.e. it is infrared light. Skin, bone, tissue and venous vessels normally absorb a constant amount of light over time. The photo-detector in the finger sensor collects and converts the light into electronic signals that are proportional to the light intensity. The arterial vascular bed pulsates and absorbs variable amounts of light during systole and diastole as the amount of blood increases and decreases. The amount of light absorbed during systole and diastole is converted into a measurement of oxygen saturation (SpO2 ).
