- The mouth, nose and throat are the first entry points for foreign germs. However, we have integrated an important first defence system in our mouth: The oral microbiome, also known as oral flora or oral microbiome. These are naturally occurring microorganisms in the oral cavity, predominantly beneficial bacteria that live on the oral mucosa.
- Our oral flora fulfils key functions in the mouth and throat. A large variety of different bacteria displaces foreign germs and thus ensures that they do not colonise the oral cavity. In addition, some types of bacteria in our oral flora can produce special defence substances that specifically attack and eliminate various pathogens.
- A healthy oral microbiome consists of around 800 to 1,000 different types of bacteria. Our lifestyle in particular has an influence on the oral microbiome: an unhealthy diet, medication or major fluctuations in the pH value within the oral cavity, for example due to high-sugar foods, can affect the oral microbiome and reduce both the diversity and the number of beneficial bacteria. This results in an imbalance, known as dysbiosis, which means that our oral microbiome can no longer fully fulfil its tasks.
- Supporting the oral microbiome through a healthy diet, maintaining a neutral pH value in the oral cavity and supplementing the oral flora with naturally occurring beneficial bacteria in the mouth and throat is therefore sensible, especially in combination with vitamin D: this is because vitamin D contributes to the normal function of the immune system and is important for the process of cell division. This is significant for the cells of the oral mucosa, as their frequent regeneration is important to maintain the function of the oral mucosa as a barrier against unwanted germs.
- OMNi-BiOTiC® iMMUND contains the bacterial strain Streptococcus salivarius K12, which occurs naturally in the oral cavity and has been tested in many studies. Supplemented with vitamin D, OMNi-BiOTiC® iMMUND makes a valuable contribution to the normal function of the immune system in children and adults.
- The sugar-free lozenge with a fruity strawberry flavour was specially developed for children.

Directions for use
- Children from 3 years 1 x daily 1 OMNi-BiOTiC® iMMUND lozenge,
- Adults 2 x daily 1 OMNi-BiOTiC® iMMUND lozenge to be slowly dissolved in the mouth.
- Use before going to bed is recommended. The lozenge can be used directly after brushing your teeth.

One monthly pack (30 lozenges) of OMNi-BiOTiC® iMMUND contains a total of at least 30 billion bacteria.
